Current Situation (2025)
- Stadium Infrastructure
Cameroon has only a handful of quality stadiums that meet international standards, most of them built for AFCON 2021. These facilities are not evenly distributed, with many regions lacking access to world-class sports infrastructure. Maintenance challenges and limited expansion plans have slowed the growth of the country’s sports sector.
- Leagues & Sports Development
While soccer remains popular and a low total grand price of $3.24million USD , professional leagues in other sports like basketball, volleyball, rugby, and tennis are either weak or nonexistent. Local competitions often lack funding, visibility, and proper governance structures. As a result, many talented athletes remain undiscovered or are forced to seek opportunities abroad.
